Students, teachers, parents and experts share their view on the content, print quality and illustration of text books used in primary and secondary mainstream schools during an informal interactive discussion with the Honorable Education Minister held at the LGED-RDEC auditorium on 29 June 2013.

A National Consultation on Public Private Partnership (PPP) in Education was held on Thursday 27 June 2013 at 3:30 pm at the BRAC Inn, 75 Mohakhali, Dhaka. The session was chaired by Ms Rasheda k. Choudhury, CAMPE. Md. Abu Rashed Advisor, PPP Cell, Prime Minister’s Office was present as key note speaker. Mr. Prof. Dr. M A Mannan , Vice Chancellor, Bangladesh Open University and Mr. S A Hasan Al Farooque, CDA Officer, ASPBAE was present as a designated discussant of the session. About 50 person representing concerned Government agencies, development partners, civil society, rights based groups, woman activist and representative from local level organization were present on the consultation.

Civil Society asked for increased allocation in education for the fiscal year 2013-14

Bangladesh allocates much less for education comparing to its committed investment of at least 6% of GNP or allocate 20% of national budget. For ensuring quality Education for All CAMPE has been carrying out persistent advocacy with the policy makers for increased budget allocation in education. To continue the process, a Civil Society Consultation with Parliamentarians on Education Sector Budget & Implementation of National Education Policy focused on in the fiscal year 2013-14 was held on 2nd June 2013 at the Spectra Convention Center, Dhaka. The consultation emphasized on better implementation of the National Education Policy, NFE Policy and Skills Development Policy along with providing a decent share of the national budget for education as a instrument for human capital development leading towards fulfilling the above-mentioned international commitments.

CAMPE goes into partnership with European Union to implement ONGIKAR project

CAMPE signs agreement with European Union to implement its ONGIKAR project. The project is aimed to strengthen the MDG and Education For All process in Bangladesh. ONGIKAR will use CAMPE’s already established credibility to advocate for policy reforms along with implementation of existing national policies and frameworks like NEP-2012, SDP-2011.
